Question by Holly08: How can I convert my property type from Manufactured Housing to a regular home?
When we took out mortgage loan we took it out for a used double wide and put it on to a first floor. We are still being classified as a Manufactured Home so we are not eligible to refinance. The thing is the whole thing has been redone and its not a manufactured home, is there anyway to get this converted so we can refinance?

No. It is still legally a manufactured home.

Why can’t you refinance a manufactured home? Contact Land Home Financial and see if they can assist you; they are the leaders in manufactured home lending.

I am not affiliated with them.
Sorry but no. If the home was not originally built on the property it is always considered a mfg. home.
It will always be a manufactured home, it will not suddenly change into a built home complete with a building permit. You can not alter reality.
I would look into the lead GVD provided.
I have been told all that is required is removing the tie-downs and tow hitch, then putting the home on a slab foundation, and you then are able to get the financing and insurance you want/need.
Maybe this varies, state to state, idk.
Is it entirely anchored to a basement or permanent foundation all the way around, or just up on blocks with a skirt around it? I do not know specific qualifications, but that is likely one of them.
No, it’s still a manufactured home. Manufacture homes aren’t built to the same standard as site built homes.
