Mortgage Refinancing Blog is an independent publication operated by Nightbard LLC (“Nightbard LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our guides are researched and produced by our editorial team, referred to here as the MRB Team.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit
Mortgage Refinancing Blog, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the site
you agree to the practices described here. We have written it to reflect how the site actually
operates today, and we will update it if our practices change.
The short version
- We do not currently display third-party advertising.
- We do not currently run any web analytics (such as Google Analytics).
- We do not collect email addresses for newsletters or marketing.
- The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data to serve
and secure the site. - If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you.
Information you provide
If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your
name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this only to read and respond to
your inquiry. We do not currently operate an on-site contact form or a third-party form
processor; messages reach us directly by email.
Information collected automatically (Cloudflare)
Our site is served through Cloudflare, a content-delivery and security
provider. To deliver pages, protect the site against abuse, and keep it available, Cloudflare
processes standard technical information about your visit, which may include your IP address,
browser and device type, the pages you request, referring pages, and the date and time of your
request. Cloudflare may also set its own cookies for security and performance purposes (for
example, to identify trusted traffic and mitigate malicious requests) and maintains its own
edge and security logs. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare under its own privacy
terms. At present, Cloudflare is the only third party that processes data about your visit to
this site. Our origin server also uses a page-cache (LiteSpeed) to serve pages faster; the cache
stores page output, not personal profiles of visitors.
Analytics
We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other web-analytics service
on this site, and no analytics measurement code is loaded. If we introduce analytics in the
future, we will update this policy to describe what is collected and how, before or at the time
it goes live.
Advertising
We do not currently display third-party advertising on this site, and no
advertising or ad-network code is loaded. If we introduce advertising in the future, our
advertising partners (which may include networks such as Google AdSense) may set cookies or use
similar technologies on your device to serve and measure ads, and we will update this policy
accordingly — including any consent mechanism required in your region — before or at
the time advertising goes live.
Email and newsletters
We do not collect email addresses for newsletters or email marketing, and we do not sell your
personal information.
Cookies overview
Because we currently run no analytics and no advertising, the only cookies in use are
functional ones — principally those set by Cloudflare for security and performance, plus
any standard WordPress cookies needed if you were to log in (ordinary visitors are not asked to
log in). You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. If we later add
analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this section and provide consent controls where
required.
How information is used
- To operate, secure, and improve the website;
- To respond to messages you send us;
- To comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site —
currently our hosting/origin server and Cloudflare (CDN/security) — and only as needed for
those services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and
the safety of users. We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to access, correct, or delete
personal information we hold about you. Because the only personal information we directly hold is
the content of emails you send us, most requests simply involve that correspondence. To make a
privacy request, email [email protected]. We will respond as required by
applicable law.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in regions where that is the applicable minimum age). We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us
information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for reasonable
record-keeping, after which it is deleted. Technical logs are retained by Cloudflare and our
hosting provider under their own schedules.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change — for example, if we later
introduce analytics or advertising. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective
date above.
